Happy Friday!! I can't believe it's Thanksgiving next week! For the first time - ever - we will not be in Michigan hosting Thanksgiving dinner and will be staying in Maryland. Our dearest family friends have invited us for dinner and I'm looking forward to being around great company and delicious food. I've already started planning my outfit for Thanksgiving dinner, something that will be forgiving and allow me to stuff my face!

I love wearing neutrals pieces, especially during fall. I've had these camel colored pants for over two years and it's been a closet staple for me. Neutral pieces, whether it be clothes, bag, shoes, or watches are timeless and will always be in style. I'm currently loving my JORD Hyde watch in Walnut & Black. The color is perfect for fall and I love the oversized look. I also have the Frankie 35 in Zeebrawood (seen here and here), which my Mama has totally stolen from me! The wood watches are my favorite because not only are they stylish they are super lightweight. I love layering my watch with bangles for some arm candy.

JORD offers an amazing selection of women's and men's watches which make for perfect holiday gifts. JORD is offering an amazing coupon code exclusive to my readers for a 25% off until 12/19. Just click the link here and the claim your coupon which is valid until Tuesday December 19 at 11:59pm.

Sports Themed Baby Shower

Sports Theme Baby Shower-Party-It's a Boy-Baby Shower

Sports Theme Baby Shower-Party-It's a Boy-Baby Shower

This past weekend we showered my darling sister and brother-in-law and their little boy with lots of love at their baby shower. I convinced my sister to let me throw her a co-ed sports themed baby shower and she totally went for it! I had such a blast planning the event. Everyone - especially the guys - loved the theme, games, and delicious food! Today I'm sharing all the details on the event.

The baby shower venue was Cazbar in downtown Baltimore. Cazbar has an amazing space upstairs that is perfect for a private event! We had about 50 guests and there was plenty of space!! The venue is extremely easy to work with an completely went along with my vision for the space. I worked with  the talented Rebecca from Peacocks & Paisleys Event Decor to transform the space into all things sports. Rebecca also did the event decor for my sister's engagement party and wedding therefore it was a no brainer that I needed her expertise for the baby shower. All of the balloon decoration was done my Elana Royfer, who was referred to me by my coworker, and she is insanely talented. It took her less than an hour to set up all the balloon decorations fort the event!!

The dessert table backdrop was the focal point of the room and Rebecca did an amazing job with setting up the pipe and drape for the backdrop. A great backdrop is key for photos and making the event memorable. During the shower I had all the guests take photos with the mom and dad to be and used the photos to send with thank you cards, everyone loved it! I found the perfect Sports Theme It's A Boy Banner from Etsy and picked up these sports onesies for background decor. The referee balloons were the perfect touch to tie in the sports theme and made for some hilarious photos with some of the guests. I found adorable Sports Candy Favor Sticks for party favors along with sport yo-yos wrapped in soccer, football, and basketball treat bags.

I planned for only three baby shower games. The first game was "Guess How Many Candies Are In the Bottle" which ended up being a very competitive game! I picked up these sports theme candies to fill the baby bottle and the winner took home the baby bottle of chocolate candies. The second game was "Who's That Baby?" and guests had to guess which family member's baby photo it was. My brother-in-law's sister sent me all their baby photos and I gather my family's photos for a fun blast from the past game. My sister and BIL totally loved this game. The last game was who could drink juice from the baby bottle the fastest. I had three guys volunteer for this game and it was absolutely epic!! The winners of all these games got MVP coffee mugs and Starbucks gift cards. Instead of a traditional guestbook I opted for a polaroid camera with extra film that guests used to snap photos and sign for the baby boy.

The brunch was all taken care of by the amazing staff at Cazbar. Since it was a co-ed shower I knew the food had to be on point or else the guys would not be happy! The menu included: Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Cacik, Tossed Salad, Turkey Bacon, Chicken and Kofta Kabob, Eggs Benedict with Soujuk, Spinach Pastries, Assorted Rolls, and Bread and all the coffee, tea, juice of your dreams. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional. I can't thank the staff and chefs at Cazbar enough for the amazing service they provided. The food was honestly the one thing I was not worried or stressed about because I knew it would be perfect!! All of the dessert - cake, cake pops, mini cupcakes, and sugar cookies - are from Enchanted Cakes and Treats. Fun fact about the cake - I din't want to waste any cake so I asked the bakery to make the bottom layer a fake cake and only the top layer an 8 inch marble cake! I'm happy to say that no cake was wasted in the production of this baby shower!

I found a fun Snapchat Geofilter for the baby shower that went perfectly with the whole sports theme.

In another life I want to be a party planner because I find such joy in planning events and making my vision come to life. I had such a blast planning my sister's baby shower and loved that she trusted me to plan the entire thing! If you are planning a sports theme baby shower or even birthday party I have all the intel and more than happy to share!

Top 5 Travel Accessories

I love traveling! Whether it's a weekend trip to NYC or a long weekend in Michigan or even overseas I have packing for a trip down to a science. There are a few travel necessities that I never leave home without. I get so many questions about my top 5 favorite items and must haves while traveling so today I'm sharing all the details since I'm packing up and heading to Canada this weekend!

Luggage Set
Just do it. I highly recommend taking the time and money to invest in a good luggage set! I purchased the DVF set through Gilt for only $200! The luggage is lightweight and extremely durable, I personally recommend a hard case suitcase as opposed to cloth. A hard case suitcase is extremely durable and long lasting. I was worried about the white color but I've checked in it on my last 3 trips and haven't had any issues. I also recommend Away, Raden, Tumi and Steamline for luggage sets.

I never travel without a neck pillow! I even take it on the bus when I'm going to NYC. It really helps supports your neck and allows you to rest comfortably throughout your travels. I've also read a lot about Ostrich Pillow and have been wanting to try it out. It looks amazing but I still haven't gotten over wearing it in public on an actual plane! Has anyone tried it?!

Travel Steamer
A friend of mine introduced me to the mini travel steamer back in 2013 and I have never traveled without it since. I can't tell you how many times I've burnt or ruined something on a trip by using the hotel iron. This travel steamer is a game changer and barely takes up any space! You can throw it in your carry on or checked bag and never have to worry about wrinkles on a your trip!

Portable Charger
Game changer. Who wants to be glued to a wall charging their phone? Or making the tough decision of preserving your battery for maps instead of taking photo - no one. This charger is relatively lightweight and charges devices quickly. I got this one over Black Friday two years ago and it's still going strong. I always pack this portable charger when I'm in NYC because I'm constantly on my phone but never have to worry about being left without battery.

Noise Cancelling Headphones
My siblings got me these headphones as a birthday gift and every time I travel I thank them for it. I have so much trouble sleeping on airplanes due to noise, chatter, crying babies, and people eating. These headphones drown out all the noise and allow me to relax.

Hope this list helped! Let me know if you want more travel tip posts!

October Birchbox

October-Birchbox-Beauty Blog

Happy Halloween! Today I'm unboxing my October Birchbox beauty treats of the month!

The theme for this month's box is Behind the Scenes - the items focused on products that are beauty's hardworking secret weapons. The Hydromemory Cream Gel is a super rich moisturizer that doubles the dose of moisturizer which is perfect for dry skin in the colder months. The OUAI Rose Hair & Beauty Oil is a lovely oil spray that can be used from head to toe! I've been using it non stop on my skin before bed. The Lipstick Queen Lip Liner, I received in Nude, is a wonderful lip liner to add to your lip routine. I personally LOVE using lip liners to get the perfect pout and this one paired well with my neutral lipstick shades. I'm all about sheet masks therefore I was super excited to try the Purlisse Green Tea mask - it is amazing! My skin felt so rich and moisturized after using it. Lastly is the Liquid glow milk highlighter. I normally used powder highlighter but it was fun to switch up to liquid. A little goes a long way with this product and delivers a sparkly highlight!

All the items can be found on Birchbox and you can always sign up to receive a monthly Birchbox here!

Thanks for stopping by!

Jewelry Organization for Apartment

Apartment life in the city is small. I've become a master at organization and switching my closet out by season. I'm a believer in seeing my closet in order to know what is in it, or else I will keep buying duplicate items. When it comes to jewelry organization I love having it displayed like a store or boutique. I keep my everyday go to pieces jewels on display for easy access. I got this shelf unit from Ikea originally as a TV stand but ended up transferring to my bedroom for organization since the height was a bit low.

I purchased a variety of gold shadow boxes, necklace stand, trinket dishes and displays to store my jewelry. I have my special occasion pieces stored away in the cubbies. For my stackable rings and most used every day rings I keep them store in trinket dishes for easy access. All my watches are stored in one shadow box for ease and organization.

I also keep my perfumes lined in a pretty silver tray to spritz on after putting on my jewels. I also keep a mason jars of perfume samples - I get so many from Sephora - and this is my favorite way to store them. These tiny perfume samples are great for travel and having a few in your clutch or purse for a mid-day spritz.

Shop my favorite jewelry organization pieces below!
